PET Recycling in Europe 2010
PCI’s study of PET recycling in Europe is a comprehensive account of the collection volumes in 2010 and projections to 2015. The report provides full analysis of the reclamation capacity in the region, the supply demand balance for bottles and the end uses for processed flake.
Some of the key findings from the latest survey are:
- Post consumer PET bottle collection grew 6% over 2009
- Collection rate remained constant in 2010 at 48.3% of available bottles
- The volume of PET collected by 2015 is forecast to reach 1.8 million metric tons
- Exports of collected PET bottles outside the region decreased 16% year on year
